Colorful pictorial map of the London Theater district, commissioned by the Underground Electric Railways Company in 1915, printed and published by the Westminster Press, whose owner and Managing Director was Gerard T Meynell. Border with name of all the theaters in the district. Showing the principal streets and buildings, the theaters, the parks, and the Underground Stations. It is filled with detail of a humorous character, the peculiarities of every district being happily parodied, and it forms an abundant source of amusement. </body>

Kerala, located in the south of India, is a land of rich green paddies, rivers and lagoons. It's often termed as " God's Own Country". The coastal plain is bordered on the east by a range of mountains in which spices such as pepper, cinnamon, ginger and cardamom are grown for export. And this has attracted traders from all over the world. Fort Kochi is one such town in Kerala, which was ruled by the Portuguese from 1503 to 1682, followed by the Dutch till 1795, and then the British until the year India became independent. It is also home to the oldest European church in India which housed the gravestone of the explorer Vasco da Gama. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the largest art exhibition in India and the biggest contemporary art festival in Asia is held in this little heritage town.This is a heritage map taking you on a trail through the various historic structures, hidden cafes, boutique hotels and stores and the main streets of the city.

Digital composite of sheets 1-4. New road map of Paris and suburbs 98.5x142, on 4 sheets 54x78. Main buildings illustrated by M. Pichon, map engraved by Michel Glot. Published by Esnauts and Rapilly. Centered on the Seine, depicts Paris prior to the French Revolution. Covers Paris on both sides of the Seine. Framed by a floral border. Title cartouche showing angels and an allegory of Paris with the symbols of the arts and sciences. Around the map are 28 views of places and landmarks. The map shows streets, parishes, colleges, hospitals, important buildings, landmarks, major squares and other points of interest. Includes tables identifying points of interest. The present example is an early state of the plan. There is an earlier edition of 1783 and later editions of 1789, 1792, 1794, 1801 and 1802. The later editions apparently have significant revisions, especially those issued after 1793.

Detailed full color pocket decorative map of London, one of the most decorative of all of Tallis' City Plans, on sheet 56x75. Dissected into 18 section, backed with linen, folded into red covers 19x13, with title "Tallis's illustrated plan of London, 1851" embossed in gilt with gilt decorations, on front and blind stamped on back cover, same stamp as front. Map borders with 48 city views, extending to Hammersmith in the west, clockwise to Cricklewood, Hampstead, Stamford Hill, Leytonstone, Greenwich, Peckham, Battersea Rise and Parson's Green. Shows color coded boundaries of boroughs, roads, streets, city blocks, buildings, landmarks, parks and places of interest. Relief shown by hachures. Includes legend.

Pictorial map, mounted on board 74x82, depicting the geography, history and landmarks of the Main Line, western suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shows rail line, counties, towns, major roads, landmarks, rivers and streams. Title cartouche shows a pair of Native Americans from the Lenape tribe on one side and George Washington on the other. The compass rose is created from the intersection of an arrow and a tomahawk with a rifle and a sword. Include numerous illustrations with descriptive text showing history of the region related to the Colonial era and the Revolutionary War, and locations of important events and brief biographies of historical figures. Border around the map are vignettes of detailed drawings of historic buildings and people.

The Main Line: A Historical map of Ye Outlying Regions

A beautiful example of A. J. Johnson’s 1866 map of Florida. This rare map offers a fascinating snapshot of this secessionist state shortly following the close of the American Civil War. Map shows the state in full with color coding according to county. Cartographically this map is
probably based on U.S. Land Survey charts commissioned in the mid-1850s. Makes numerous references to American Indian tribes and to forts and battles sites related to the Seminole Wars. Notes Lake
Okeechobee, the Everglades, the Indian Hunting Grounds, Biscayne Bay,
Tampa Bay and the Okefenokee Swamp. Also shows the course of a proposed canal route leading from Tampa to the Atlantic. The Arredondo Grant is included just to the west of St. Augustine. The Arredondo Grant was a layover of the Spanish Land Grant program, which bequeathed it to a powerful Spanish merchant - Arredondo. With incredible difficulty and protest, the land grants were dissolved when Florida became part of the United States. Nonetheless the Arredondo Grand proved tenacious appearing on mappings of this region well into the late 19th century. An inset map in the lower left hand quadrant details the Florida Keys.
Features the fretwork style border common to Johnson’s atlas work from 1863 to 1869. Published by A. J. Johnson and Ward as plate number 43 in the 1866 edition of Johnson’s New Illustrated Family Atlas. This is the last edition of the Johnson Atlas to bear the Johnson and Ward imprint.

Colored copy. Panoramic view centers on France and Germany but includes, at its borders, portions of England, France, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden and other European nations. Along the Rhine, Germany’s defensive Siegfried Line is shown. The English Channel separating England and France is shown defended by the Dover Patrol, comprised not only of ships as in WWI, but also aircraft. The map’s border is particularly striking, with images of aircraft across the top, warships across the bottom, and heavy artillery and tanks in the margins right and left. Shows rivers, mountains, landmarks, major cities and towns. Relief shown pictorially and by shadings. Includes distances.

Atlas pintoresco é histórico de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos - Etnografia

Very decorative large pictorial map of Europe designed in 1946 by Pierre Herault and published in Angers by Editions Jacques Petit in 1955. The separately issued map shows the whole of Europe without national borders and it is richly illustrated by nice illustrations featuring people, flora, animals, farms, gastronomic delight of the various countries. In the top right corner, a smiling sun gives a new bright optimism to the continent after the 6 years of conflict. A very nice uncommon map.

Showing Disney scene & characters head towards golden Gate exposition. A promotional map sponsored by Standard Oil Company of California and Travel Tykes Weekly Magazine. The map is filled with vignettes in each of the states and provinces of Canada, showing Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck engaged in activities reflective of the tourism or indigenous commerce or industry of the state. 

Around borders there are comic strip panels from the Travel Tykes Weekly Magazine or from service stations are numbered & were to be cut out & pasted in proper place on the map. On verso shows Mickey and Donald at the Fair, featuring vignettes on the major attractions of the Golden Gate Exposition.
