This place is special to me because I took the leap to move to Hanoi, Vietnam from the UK to have a (drastic!) change of scene and rediscover my creative voice. I am passionate about sustainable fashion and joined Fashion Revolution Vietnam to promote ways of enjoying fashion sustainably through exhibitions and events. Alexander Samuel MacLeod was a painter and printmaker. He was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. After moving to San Francisco, he continued his artistic training at the California School of Design under Frank Van Sloun. 
 
In 1921, MacLeod arrived in Hawaii, where he worked in the art departments of the magazine Paradise of the Pacific and the local papers, The Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. By 1929, he had returned to Canada and resided there for ten years. Again in Hawaii, MacLeod became the director of the graphic art department for the United States Army in the Pacific. 
 
In 1943, he published a book of his Hawaiian prints, The Spirit of Hawaii, Before and After Pearl Harbor. MacLeod retired to Palo Alto, California, where he died in 1956. 
 
Scenes are amazing vignettes and insets of life in Honolulu. An inset piece in center has written: "In this map you will find depicted in pictorial fashion the history, landmarks & customs of these colorful isles. A map of Honolulu and the Sandwich Islands which we know call the Hawaiian Islands."

Recently I have been thinking of an amazing place amid the CORONA situation. 
The world is challenged with the CORONA virus. People are discouraged to go out and most people are already working from home and wearing mask is the new fashion. This is the new normal in 2020. Recently. while trapped at home,  I am thinking of a wonderful place to run away, where it is quiet, peaceful and safe. 
Wonderful travel destinations around LADAKH in North India, Tibet, Himalayas, Pamir, etc.
These places are very challenging to visit. 
I watched the movie ‘3 Idiots’ and I am captivated with a scenery at the last scene of the movie. 
It was a scenery of LADAKH that features its beautiful lake Tso Moriri. 
LADAKH is also said to be the intersection of the ancient Silk Road and Tea Horse Road.
I get so interested in this place that  I did my  research and watched a Korean documentary called “Tea Horse Road”. 
This is a difficult route for merchants who traded at the highest points in the world from the 7th century to the 20th century. This not a typical road, it is so narrow and dangerous  that it said  to be the route that only birds and rats can pass. 

After searching the internet, I wanted to draw a map and share it with you.

Farrow's map of Manhattan is full of interesting details well rendered,
all of which contribute to an outstanding design and makes this map one of the best pictorial maps of the 1920's in the United States. This appears to be the only major map that Farrow designed. He died young, at age 40. The title cartouche is covered by the printed label which also appears on the map envelope (not present with this copy). Some copies do not have the printed label covering the cartouche.

Around borders there are comic strip panels from the Travel Tykes Weekly Magazine or from service stations are numbered & were to be cut out & pasted in proper place on the map. 道南　ロックフィッシュポイント

地層の時代が塗り分けされた地図です。1914年に完成することになるパナマ運河の計画図が掲載されています。太平洋と大西洋の間の運河計画は当時、ニカラグアルートも候補に上がっており、そちらも区分図として描かれています。
