Hello,
This is Ishii from the Stroly development team.
Here’s the first release note of 2025.
While the beginning of 2024 was marked by various incidents such as accidents and earthquakes, it seems that this year started off without any major issues, allowing everyone to enjoy a peaceful start.
As for me, I visited the nearby Hakozaki Shrine with my best friend’s family and strolled around the festival stalls together. I also experienced a milestone moment this year by giving my first New Year’s gift money to a child who is starting elementary school, which made me realize how much I’ve aged.
Speaking of 2025, I’m especially excited about the release of Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28. If you’re planning to play, you might just run into me wielding a lance somewhere in the game.
Now, let me walk you through today’s release details.
Update Information for Stroly Viewer v20.0.0
When GPS is activated, the accuracy of the GPS location is now displayed as a circular radius on the map.
Stroly allows users to display their current location on the map using the GPS functionality of smartphones and other devices. However, one of the challenges with GPS is that the accuracy of the location data it provides can vary significantly depending on the location and environment. In some cases, the current location displayed on a Stroly map might differ greatly from the user’s actual location.
To address this issue, Stroly now displays the GPS accuracy as a circular radius on the map alongside the current location whenever GPS is activated. This feature provides a clear visual indication of the precision of the GPS data at that moment.
As shown on the screen above, the GPS accuracy is displayed as a circular radius on the map. The larger the circle, the lower the GPS accuracy. By looking at the size of the accuracy circle, users can get a rough idea of how much their actual location might differ from the position obtained through GPS. We hope this feature serves as a useful reference for understanding the potential discrepancies in location data.
At Stroly, we strive to develop new features and improve features every day to provide an exciting user experience. Please continue to look forward to the release.
We are looking forward to hearing from all the staff and users.
