Laura Irrgang

Laura Irrgang is an artist and writer who splits her time between fine art, illustration, and cartooning. She created the comic strip Glitterville, and is a member of the National Cartoonist Society’s Texas Chapter. Irrgang is currently illustrating a knitting craft book for Abrams Publishing. Irrgang is also the recipient of the 2019 Hunt County Public Art award.
She has also been an instructor for graphic novel courses at the Highland Park Literary Festival.
Irrgang served as assistant director of F8 Fine Art Gallery in Austin, Texas. For the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum, she worked as the director of the summer art program.After receiving a degree in Fine Arts from Tarleton State University, Irrgang taught high school art and theater. She then became an instructor for the University of Texas Informal Course program, teaching painting and art history.
