At Meiji-Shrine Gaien, a send-off ceremony for student soldiers was held in 1943.

Shiba-Maruyama Tomb in Shiba Park was built in the fifth century. It is believed that a head of one of the biggest local ruling family was buried.

The National Diet Building under construction. The constraction of the National Diet Building started in 1920. However, due to many difficulties, it was in 1936 that the National Diet Building was finally completed.

The site of Tokyo Dome (a baseball ground) and Korakuen Amusement Park used to be a military arsenal.

Narihirabashi Station had been called "Asakusa Station" until the present Asakusa Station was completed. The station is scheduled to be renamed "Tokyo Sky Tree Station" in 2012.

Although Akihabara is famous for electric appliance stores and its unique animation culture now. However, a vegetable market used to exist in front of the Akihabara Station at the time.

Susaki

This poster is the movie "Susaki paradise akashingo" in 1956. Toyo area in Tokyo's Koto Ward used to be called Susaki. Susaki was one of the biggest red-light districts in Tokyo until 1958.

The photos was taken to the Toden Arakawa-line in 1985 and Ouzi electric tramway building at the time. At the time of the map, the present Toei Streetcar (Toden) Arakawa-line was one of trams at Tokyo.

The photo was taken in 1929. The first Sukiyabashi Bridge was built in 1629 over a moat. The bridge was rebuilt in 1929 as shown in the photo. The moat was filled in 1958, the bridge was removed accordingly.

The present station building was built in 1929(see the upper photo).The photo below shows Ryogoku Kokugikan(Sumo wrestling Hall) before the World War Ⅱ.Having moved to another place once, it was relocated to the present location in 1985.

The site of the Third Infantry Regiment became Aoyama Park and National Art Center, Tokyo. A part of the barracks still remains as National Art Center annex.
