The float design represents this legend and depicts the figure of a brave carp. There is a vermillion lacquered shrine gate and a small shrine hall on the float where the deity, Susano-o is enshrined. Take adequate rest and hydration to prevent heatstroke! TAKA YAMA Takayama, dates back to before the Onin War in the 1460s. This float enshrines the images of a falconer, a master of hounds and a servant who carries a cask on his back, tasting chimaki rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. Takayama was damaged by heavy rain and wind during the 1826 procession and was unable to participate in following procession. However, thanks to the tremendous efforts of the local community, Takayama was revived in 2022.
