Taimeshikadoya Ropeway Branch
Restaurant
Our recommended dish at this restaurant, located right next to the Matsuyama Castle Ropeway station, is "Uwajima Taimeshi." This local dish features fresh "Date Madai" brand sea bream sashimi, mixed with a special sauce that we've been perfecting since our establishment, along with a raw egg, and served over warm rice. We also recommend "Satsuma Meshi," a home-style dish from Ehime's Nanyo region, where grilled sea bream meat is combined with Ehime's special barley miso, thinned with dashi, and poured over warm barley rice. Another local specialty is "Uwajima Jakoten" (fried fish cake). Additionally, we offer a wide selection of carefully chosen Ehime local sakes and drinks made with Ehime-grown citrus fruits. Please enjoy Kadoya's hospitality along with these offerings.Address3-7-4 Okaido, Matsuyama City, Green Forest Sakanoue, 1st floorGoogle Map Check with Google Maps AccessParkingBusiness Hours11:00-20:30 (last order 20:00)Admission FeeRegular HolidayNone (closed on January 1st)Phone Number089-907-5100URL https://www.kadoya-taimeshi.com/kadoyamanage/shoplist/taimeshikadoyaropeway/ SNSPasses for Enjoying Matsuyama Sightseeing at a Great Value📍 Matsuyama Dogo Tour Pass¥2,000 (tax included)Valid for 2 days from start date Includes the following facilities: Matsuyama Castle tenshu (castle tower or keep)Matsuyama Castle Ropeway (round-trip)Dōgo Onsen Honkan (Kami-no-Yu & Downstairs)Saka no Ue no Kumo MuseumBotchan Food Hall 5% discount benefitAdmission via smartphone QR code presentation See Details ※This is a discounted sightseeing pass compared to regular prices 🚃 Botchan Train Dogo Onsen Commemorative Pack¥2,500 (tax included)Botchan train 1-ride ticketDōgo Onsen Honkan bathing (Kami-no-Yu & Lower Bath)Train seats are reserved in advanceBathing available on the day of or the day before See Details ※During peak times, you may be directed to another bathhouse

Taimeshi" is known as one of Ehime Prefecture's local dishes, but it's broadly divided into two types depending on the region. In the eastern and central parts of Ehime Prefecture (Toyo and Chuyo regions), "Taimeshi" refers to rice cooked with sea bream. A whole sea bream or fillets are grilled, placed on rice, seasoned with soy sauce, salt, sake, mirin, and dashi, and then cooked. Once cooked, the sea bream is flaked and mixed into the rice. In the southern part of Ehime Prefecture (Nanyo region), centered around Uwajima City, "Taimeshi" refers to fresh sea bream sashimi mixed with a sauce and served over rice. The sauce for the sashimi is soy sauce-based, enriched with raw egg, sesame, chopped green onions, and other condiments for a flavorful finish.Address3-5-1 Okaido, Matsuyama CityGoogle Map Check with Google Maps AccessParkingBusiness Hours[Lunch] 11:00-15:00 (L.O. 14:30) [Night] 17:30-20:30 (L.O. 20:00)Admission FeeRegular HolidayTuesdayPhone Number089-909-7652URL SNSPasses for Enjoying Matsuyama Sightseeing at a Great Value📍 Matsuyama Dogo Tour Pass¥2,000 (tax included)Valid for 2 days from start date Includes the following facilities: Matsuyama Castle tenshu (castle tower or keep)Matsuyama Castle Ropeway (round-trip)Dōgo Onsen Honkan (Kami-no-Yu & Downstairs)Saka no Ue no Kumo MuseumBotchan Food Hall 5% discount benefitAdmission via smartphone QR code presentation See Details ※This is a discounted sightseeing pass compared to regular prices 🚃 Botchan Train Dogo Onsen Commemorative Pack¥2,500 (tax included)Botchan train 1-ride ticketDōgo Onsen Honkan bathing (Kami-no-Yu & Lower Bath)Train seats are reserved in advanceBathing available on the day of or the day before See Details ※During peak times, you may be directed to another bathhouse

Hougonji Temple
Temples and Shrines
It is said to have been founded in 665, the fourth year of Emperor Tenji's reign, and is known as the birthplace of Ippen Shonin, a Kamakura-period monk and founder of the Ji sect of Buddhism. Ippen Shonin was a member of the Kono clan, a powerful local clan. He became a monk and distributed talismans (talismans) while traveling to spread the teachings of Nembutsu. The "dancing Nembutsu," in which people chant Nembutsu while dancing, is said to be the origin of the Bon Odori dance. The "Wooden Standing Statue of Ippen Shonin," a National Important Cultural Property depicting Ippen on his pilgrimage, was destroyed in a fire in 2013 but was rebuilt in 2016 along with the Ippen Shonin Hall. Dogo Onsen No. 4 Hot Spring Supply Facility and Handbath
Foot bath and hand bath
Dogo Onsen has 18 hot spring sources. The pumped water is collected in what is called a hot spring supply facility. Hot water of varied temperatures is blended and adjusted so that it stays at a constant temperature. It is then sent to public bathhouses such as the Dogo Onsen Honkan, as well as hotels. A characteristic of Dogo Onsen is the hot spring water direct from the source with no reheating or added water. Dogo Onsen has four hot spring supply facilities, but the No. 4 Hot Spring Supply Facility is the only place where visitors can observe how the water is collected and enjoy the feel of the freshly pumped hot spring water in the handbath.Address7-28 Dogo-yunomachi, Matsuyama CityGoogle Map Check with Google Maps AccessParkingBusiness Hours 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (handbath may be used 24 hours)Admission FeefreeRegular HolidayOpen year-round (observation room temporarily closed for one day in December)Phone NumberURL https://dogo.jp/tour SNSPasses for Enjoying Matsuyama Sightseeing at a Great Value📍 Matsuyama Dogo Tour Pass¥2,000 (tax included)Valid for 2 days from start date Includes the following facilities: Matsuyama Castle tenshu (castle tower or keep)Matsuyama Castle Ropeway (round-trip)Dōgo Onsen Honkan (Kami-no-Yu & Downstairs)Saka no Ue no Kumo MuseumBotchan Food Hall 5% discount benefitAdmission via smartphone QR code presentation See Details ※This is a discounted sightseeing pass compared to regular prices 🚃 Botchan Train Dogo Onsen Commemorative Pack¥2,500 (tax included)Botchan train 1-ride ticketDōgo Onsen Honkan bathing (Kami-no-Yu & Lower Bath)Train seats are reserved in advanceBathing available on the day of or the day before See Details ※During peak times, you may be directed to another bathhouse
