"Sato no Yu" is the newest hot spring among the public bathhouses (soto-yu).As its name, "Station Hot Spring," suggests, it is conveniently located very close to Kinosaki Onsen Station, allowing you to enjoy a bath while waiting for your train. The bathhouse has an exotic atmosphere, filled with the scent of herbs and the sound of waterfalls, creating a unique and relaxing space. You can unwind while gazing at the serene Maruyama River and the surrounding nature. There is also a free foot bath at the entrance. Jizou Yu Spa Public bathhouse
In the Edo period, this bathhouse was known as the "Satobito no Sotoyu" because many villagers used it. It was named "Jizo Yu" because a statue of Jizo was found at the hot spring source. The bathhouse enshrines the Jizo deity in its garden. The second floor features a spacious tatami-mat relaxation area. Kou no Yu Spa Public bathhouse
Kinosaki Onsen was founded 1,300 years ago by the monk Dochi Shonin. However, there is another legend regarding the origins of "Kou no Yu", one of the hot springs in Kinosaki. Long ago, it is said that a stork with an injured leg was found healing its wounds in a hot spring. This hot spring became known as "Kou no Yu". Mandara Yu Spa Public bathhouse
Kinosaki Onsen originated when the monk Dochi Shonin chanted the Hachiman Mandala Sutra continuously for a thousand days. Upon completing his prayers, a miraculous hot spring emerged, marking the beginning of Kinosaki Onsen. Due to its sacred origin, this hot spring was named "Mandara Yu." The building has traditionally featured a Karahafu (arched gable) architectural style. Gosho no Yu Spa Public bathhouse
The name "Gosho no Yu" originates from an article in the historical tale "Masukagami" from the Nanboku-cho period, which records that Princess Ankamon-in, the sister of Emperor Go-Horikawa, bathed in this hot spring in 1267. Inside, the bathhouse features plantings such as Kinki Mame Zakura and Mitsuba Tsutsuji, inspired by the mountains of Tajima. Ichi no Yu Spa Public bathhouse
In the mid-Edo period, "Ichi no Yu" was originally called "Arayu". It gained fame due to the renowned Edo period physician Shuto Kagawa, who praised it in his book "Ippondou Yakusen." Kagawa described "Kinosaki Arayu (Ichi no Yu)" as the best hot spring in the country. Due to this high praise, Arayu was renamed "Ichi no Yu." Kinosaki Strawcraft Museum Tourist facility or Tourist attraction
"Kinosaki Strawcraft" is a traditional craft involving the use of barley straw to decorate wooden boxes and paper. With a history spanning 300 years, it has been designated as a traditional craft of Hyogo Prefecture and an intangible cultural property of Toyooka City. This craft was included in the Siebold Collection, spreading the skills of Kinosaki's artisans overseas. In 1902, it won the Grand Honor Prize at the St. Louis World's Fair. At the "Kinosaki Strawcraft Museum", visitors can admire around 40 works by contemporary artisans as well as approximately 200 pieces from the Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods.
