This warehouse, constructed around 1917 in the 6th year of the Taisho era, is a three-story building with an exterior covered in mortar and a reinforced concrete structure. The construction method combines modern techniques from the Meiji era onwards with traditional storehouse design. Akiba-sama is worshipped here. Akiha-sama is a god who protects against fires. In the past, everything, from cooking to heating, relied on wood and charcoal. Houses were made of wood and paper, and if one caught fire, it could easily spread to others. People prayed to Akiha-sama to prevent fires in their homes.

During the Edo period, as highways were developed, along these highways were invariably established honjin and waki-honjin, as well as wholesale markets responsible for transporting people, goods, and information. The honjin served as resting places for high-ranking individuals such as daimyo. This honjin was particularly large, even among those along the Mino Road. Princess Wamiya also stayed overnight here.

About 100 years ago, merchants in the bustling post town of Nakatsugawa on the Nakasendo, who were engaged in thriving commerce, wished for further prosperity for the area. They did so by enshrining a divine spirit from the Nishinomiya Shrine in Settsu Province (now Hyogo Prefecture), which was well-known at the time as the god of good fortune 'Ebisu-sama,' and established Nishinomiya Shrine in Nakatsugawa.

It served as a hiding place for Katsura Kogoro, a samurai from Choshu, while he waited for Lord Mori Yoshichika's procession to Kyoto. With local support, he discreetly avoided shogunate officials. After a meeting in Nakatsugawa, Choshu decided to back the imperial restoration and end the shogunate. This place shares a hidden story of the Meiji era changes.

This is the monument "Maeda Seison Birthplace. Seison was active as a central figure in Japanese painting during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. He left many famous paintings, mainly historical paintings, but also flower-and-bird and landscape paintings. He was a professor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, restored the mural paintings of Horyuji Temple, copied the mural paintings of Takamatsuzuka burial mound, and also served as a painting instructor for the Empress of the Showa Emperor. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 92.

In the ancient era of the Age of the Gods, approximately 2,800 years ago, it is said that the divine spirits Izanaki and Izanami bestowed their blessings upon Earth. They granted the birth of the sun goddess Amaterasu, and the membrane and placenta, known as "ena" in Japanese, were interred at a location now known as Mount Ena . It is believed that at this sacred site, Izanaki and Izanami placed the "Meoto Iwa" or the "Couple Rocks" for the prosperity and happiness of humanity.
