Suntory Museum of Art opened in Marunouchi, Tokyo in 1961 and moved to Tokyo Midtown in 2007. Mori Art Museum opened in 2003 on the top floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower as an international contemporary art museum at the heart of the "Cultural Urban Center" concept. In parallel with a variety of special exhibitions, the museum has been collecting contemporary artworks from Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, with a total collection of approximately 460 works in a variety of media including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, video, and installation, which are displayed in the "MAM Collection" series, The collection is exhibited sequentially according to themes. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT opened in 2007 under the directorship of Issey Miyake, the founder, Taku Satoh, and Naoto Fukasawa. The National Museum of Western Art is the only national art museum dedicated to Western art in general. Founded in 1877, the National Museum of Nature and Science is the only comprehensive science museum on the history of nature, science and technology. The museum stores more than 5 million specimens and materials and exhibits approximately 25,000 on a permanent basis.
