This Japanese confectionery shop was founded in 1902. It features Tamashigure, a steamed confectionery famous as one of the specialties of Senshu. It was named after the fact that when Okabe Minonokami, the lord of Kishiwada Castle, held this confectionery, it crumbled onto his lap, which resembled shigure, or a shower in late autumn. Focusing on a handmade process and seasonal ingredients, this shop also offers many seasonal unbaked sweets. Red bean paste is prepared for each Japanese confectionery, and even Nerikiri dough is handmade. Fugetsudou has been selected as one of the 100 companies that represent Sakai and Senshu. In the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868), the lord of Kishiwada Castle ordered his tea server to invent a unique confectionery with a flavor. The tea server came up with one with his colleagues and provided it to the lord. The lord was greatly satisfied with its taste. When he held the confectionery, it crumbled like rain, or shigure more specifically, which means a shower in the late autumn in Japanese. This is how this confectionery was named "Shigure." It is said that Shigure was provided to relatives and friends, instead of Joshu-mochi rice cakes, in the Kishiwada Fall Festival, a famous event in Izumi. One day, a Buddhist monk riding on a giant octopus and thousands of octopuses came from nowhere and fiercely mowed down the enemy soldiers to save the castle. A few days later, a Jizo statue with many arrow and bullet scratches was found in the moat of the castle, so it was kept safely inside the castle. It was later moved to Japan's largest Jizo-do hall inside Tenshoji Temple in the Bunroku period (1592-1596), where it remains to this day. It is unclear when and by whom Kishiwada Castle was built. In the Sengoku period (the Warring States period), however, it was used as the residence of the Matsuura clan, who governed the Senshu region at that time. In 1597, it was renovated as a castle with a keep by Koide Hidemasa, a vassal of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Then, Okabe Nobukatsu moved into the castle in 1640 and used it as a base for governing Senshu for 230 years until the Meiji Restoration. The five-story keep was burnt down by lightning in 1827. Around 1362, the mayor of Numamura (present-day Numa-cho, Sujikai-cho, and Nanmatsu-cho), who was devoted to his parents, did everything for his long-dying father and prayed for his recovery, but none of them worked. After three days of praying at Yasaka-jinja Shrine in the Yamashiro Province, which he believed in, he felt something divine. So he returned to his home, full of joy, and found his father fully recovered. He reported its divine graces to people in the village, and then built shrine pavilions on the premises (present location) and enshrined a divided spirit (Susanoo-no-Mikoto) from Yasaka-jinja Shrine.
