In full bloom, you can see an arch of many cherry blossom trees and fluttering petals! Walking at night through the trees lit up is so lovely.

Bukko-ji Temple
This is a hidden but great spot where three weeping cherry trees bloom proudly. Inside the temple, you can relax at a stylish variety goods store, D&DEPARTMENT KYOTO and a dining café D-Shokudo.

Along Kamo River
I like to buy bento boxes in Demachi Street Shopping Street and come here for a picnic. The west side has a wider embankment, and you can see Mt Daimonji from the front! There are less people around than the Marutamachi area.

The garden of Chion-in is a hidden cherry viewing spot! Amazing Zen garden with gorgeous weeping cherry trees!

The Lake Biwa Canal (Biwako Sosui)
So many cherry blossom trees alongside the canal! This was constructed to supply water from Lake Biwa to Kyoto. You can take a good picture with Heian Jingu and a retro power plant at Reisen Dori Street in the background.

Keage Incline
It’s a tunnel full of cherry blossom trees in bloom alongside an unused railway track. It’s becoming a famous spot and more and more people come here at the peak season. I recommend you visit here when the cherry blossoms have just started blooming.

Takenaka Inari Shrine
The combination of the layers of Tori gates and cherry trees is so photogenic. You can see the great view of Kyoto from a café called Moan on top of the mountain.
