Find your favorite new place to work.
Reset was created out of our co-founders' mutual struggle to find a good place to work. We tried coffeeshops, we tried expensive coworking spaces and we tried staying at home - but none of those really worked. Spaces were either too crowded, too loud, too expensive or just plain boring.

During dinner at an especially stunning East Austin restaurant, we looked around and realized we had already found a beautiful workspace. Gorgeous windows, comfortable seats and all the space we would ever need - all sitting empty during the day when the restaurant wasn't open.

The rest of the story includes a lot of hustle, countless conversations with restaurant owners and user research.

In the end, Reset is a way for people to experience new spaces in their local communities and get their work down - without breaking the bank.

Our focus is and will always be on helping our members do their best work, and experience new spaces right in their neighborhood.

I2400 E Cesar Chavez St #300 kittycohens.com Kitty Cohen's exudes the chill, outdoor patio vibes that East Austin is known for and has been "inspired by all the rebel women in our lives." You get that from the decor, it's a beautiful tattoo-filled oasis of pink patio umbrellas and some seriously hardcore drinks. Even better though - there's a Cambodian food truck (also started by a badass lady) on-site most of the time serving up seriously spices dishes that you won't be able to find anywhere else in Austin. If you're feeling like a scavenger hunt, look for the spicy Burt Reynolds photo adorning the walls inside.

IBC Bank Plaza, 500 W 5th St #168 wuchowaustin.com Wu Chow brings authentic, modern Chinese food that is absolutely amazing, including a dim sum brunch menu. The food is artfully presented, but is brimming with flavor in a way that transports the diner to another place entirely. One of our faovrites is the dim sum brunch menu, an often unknown feature of the restaurant - don't miss it. The founder of Reset routinely find themselves here after a long day ordering the sweet & sour soup (best in Austin in our opinion), the mapo tofu and the eggplant dish.

1401 W 6th St www.nightcapaustin.com/ Nightcap is the embodiment of community. The restaurant's vibrant jewel tones and cozy feel (it is in a historic Bungalow after all) make for a wonderful atmosphere for a cocktail, dinner, dessert or all three. Owner & GM Christin Rowen built Nightcap from the ground up with the intent of creating a place where everyone can feel at home - and one that delivers on innovative cocktail/dessert menus as well as dinner favorites like the pretzel rolls, house made kimchi fries and other tasty treats. Try the house old-fashioned with comes with a honeycomb, and don't miss the dessert menu. Our favorite items on the menu include the kimchi fries, the burger and the pretzel rolls (made in-house fresh).

3201 E Cesar Chavez St tilleryatx.com/ Tillery Kitchen & Bar is one of East Austin's best kept secrets - set in a beautiful, minimalist building with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Colorado River it is a scenic paradise. The menu is seasonally inspired with a meditteranean tilt, and a seasonally inspired cocktail menu that is sure to please. Our favorite dishes include the ice cream taster that includes a trio of unique gelato and sorbet flavors, and the flourless chocolate cake. Indulgence overlooking the river? Yes please.

IBC Bank Plaza, 500 W 5th St #168 wuchowaustin.com Casino El Camino is easy to miss, since it is located smack dab in the middle of 6th street - or "dirty 6th" as the locals call it. On the weekend, it can be hard to walk down the street let alone figure out which dive bar has the best burgers in town. Well, we got you - it's Casino El Camino. The dive bar on 6th has some truly amazing underworld meets Christmas themed decor on the inside, but the treasure is in the back at the order-in window. There, you'll find one of the most reasonable prices and unpretentious burgers in Austin and it's one of the best. For vegetarian friends, their roasted vegetable sandwich is also A+, and don't get us started on the fries. They usually play movies on the screens, so you can grab yourself a nice $5 mixed drink, go to town on those fries and enjoy knowing you're getting one of the best deals ever.

2701 Manor Rd, birdbirdbiscuit.com Sour Duck is one of the newer establishments in East Austin but was created by Odd Duck owner and Austin restauranteur well-known for bold flavors served up with bready, home-y classics. Boasting an ample outdoor space, it's perfect for a casual breakfast, baked good, lunch or now dinner. Specailizing in Texas flavors like smoked meats, served up with bakery classics like croissants, kolaches, breads galor and brownies, oh my! It's the perfect place to spend an afternoon with some delicious cocktails outside, spending time with friends or catching the game. We think it's the perfect combination of low-key patio life Austin with some bold flavors at a very reasonable price point.

2701 Manor Rd, txchiliparlor.com/ Texas Chili Parlor is a beautiful combination of tex-mex and kitsch that will warm your soul like July in Austin. Since 1976, they've been serving up chili (of course), burgers, sandwiches and all kind of Tex-Mex goodies but has gained its notoriety as a watering hole for creatives, old-timey Austinites and has even earned a set credit in a Tarantino movie. Basically, it's a well-known but hidden gem here in Austin and don't let the name fool you - there's so much more than chili there.

1400 E 38th 1/2 St, cherrywoodcoffeehouse.com Cherrywood Coffeehouse just celebrated it's 10 year anniversary as an Austin staple, and it's easy to see why. The coffeehouse is all things Austin - colorful, local and has great breakfast tacos. In fact - one of the Reset co-founders swears by their egg, cheese, and potato breakfast taco as her favorite in Austin. It has tiny, crispy little french fries as the potatoes and that's really all you need to know. Beyond that, the coffeehouse offers daily, free 8 AM yoga inside for everyone and has weekly open mics, children's music outside and movie screenings. They boast great coffee, and a full beer lineup and you'll often find one of the owners taking your order at the front counter. Out recommendation is to go on a weekday, enjoy the 8 AM yoga and then grab yourself a coffee and a taco to enjoy outside on the patio space. Located in the adorable Cherrywood neighborhood, you can also include a walk around in your itinerary.

I2400 E Cesar Chavez St #300 blueowlbrewing.com/ Blue Owl Brewery is an East Austin favorite, not only because of the gorgeous tasting room but the unique sour-mashed flavors that they create with each of their brews. Sour brews are a bit of a love it or hate it type of beverage, but we at Reset tend to love them and thus, love Blue Owl Brewery. Head on over on a sunny day, grab a beer and enjoy the sunshine. After that, you can take a stroll down 7th admiring some of the many cute shops, pinata stores and murals adorning the street. Our recommendation and favorite brew is Van Dayum! a sour red ale.

1900 Simond Ave, locadoroaustin.com We could go on and on about L'Oca d'Oro but suffice to say their accolades speak for themselves - it's been named CultureMap Restaurant of the Year 2018 and is consistently an Eater Essential 38 for Austin for a reason. GM Adam Orman & Chef Fiore Tedesco have created the restaurant inspired by the Italian celebration of family, community and sustainability. Not only is the pasta tasting menu a thing of beauty (get it, get it, get it) but everything is prepared with local and sustainably grown ingredients. The menu is authentically Italian, and the wine pairings are carefully selected and curated - we know because we've seen the hours of work these two put into selection. Even better though - the chef is a movie aficionado and oftentimes does movie screenings in the restaurant with a special menu selected for the movie. If you're looking for a fine dining experience that is authentic, mind-blowingly delicious and won't make you feel like you're not fancy enough for this-this is it. The owners make everyone feel at home, and are routinely seen serving the wine and explaining the menu items to patrons - it really does feel like you're eating a wonderful meal in the company of your friends. We highly recommend the Pasta Tasting Menu.

2701 Manor Rd, birdbirdbiscuit.com Bird Bird Biscuit opened in 2018 and has earned a cult following via Instagram, both because of these amazingly delicious biscuits and the owners! The owners started the shop after becoming "obsessed' with biscuits and sandwiches, following their previous experience with Thunderbird Coffee down the street. They spent two years perfecting a recipe for a biscuit that was buttery, flaky and would hold together as a sandwich. With that, Bird Bird Biscuit was born. This is a great casual place for a quick breakfast or lunch bite, though you may want to stop by earlier since there's usually a line. They have veggie and meat friendly options, but our favorite is the Little Bird or the Lovely Day.

  • Alamo Mueller Alamo Mueller

show stroly map Show Stroly map

1911 Aldrich St #120, drafthouse.com An Austin staple, Alamo Drafthouse was founded in 1997 known for its love of cinema, dinner & beverage service tableside and uniquely weird (& Austin-like) movie parties. Now a staple all over Texas (and beyond) Alamo Drafthouse routinely serves up all things movies including special Q&A's with directors, weekly horror nights and Master Pancake showings which are cult hits reminiscent of Mystery Science 3000. Moviegoers will find comfortable seats, an extensive and often movie-themed food and beverage menu - including adult milkshakes. The company makes a point of creating an inclusive environment for every moviegoer - including showings for little ones (brighter lights, lower noise) and special showings that are 21+ only. One thing is always consistent though - the theatre's no talking, texting or phones policy during the movie. Everyone that loves Alamo Drafthouse really really loves it, it only takes a couple of visits to become a cult fan. Reset recommendation is to catch a movie party, music video dance party or Master Pancake showing - you won't regret it. Who doesn't love dancing with 100 of their closest movie theatre friends with music videos on a big screen?!
